Charge:
The AskColorado Steering Committee is charged with the oversight of the AskColorado virtual reference project, including selecting software, negotiating and implementing contracts and licenses for virtual reference and associated software, implementing and marketing virtual reference throughout the state on behalf of Colorado libraries and to the benefit of Colorado residents.
Duties:

- Select software to provide statewide virtual reference.
- Negotiate contracts and licenses for virtual reference and associated software.
- Work closely with the State Library, BCR and other entities in contracting for software licenses/contracts on behalf of Colorado libraries.
- Develop funding and cost formulas.
- Advise on AskColorado operations.
- Market AskColorado.
- Enhance cooperation among participating libraries.
- Provide assistance to the State Library for funding options by suggesting grant programs and other funding opportunities and advising on grant applications prepared by the State Library on behalf of AskColorado.
- Coordinate/cooperate with activity in other states as appropriate.
- Report on the status of AskColorado to the State Library.
- And otherwise perform such duties as needed to strengthen AskColorado
